The Role
I enjoyed it overall however at times some of the research I was doing was not completely aligned with my own interests. However I was allowed to work autonomously and had a great deal of variety.
I worked in two teams; both teams made me feel very welcome and I enjoyed socialising with them both in and out of work.
My managers were always very supportive: occasionally it was difficult to get in contact with one of my managers as he travelled a lot however he always responded eventually and I was always provided with other points of contact.
I stayed late only a few times and was also able to leave early a few times.
I was given ownership of my own projects.
I learnt a lot of soft skills that will be helpful both on a day to day basis, and also in my future career. I found my placement was not really related to my degree (mathematics) at all, however I was not expecting it to be and this suited me.
The Company
When I was hot desking it could sometimes feel a little isolated.
There were social events throughout the year and plenty of contact with HR.
We were provided with plenty of chances to attend training courses, as well as our initial induction.

Working from home
I received a job offer.
The Culture
There were plenty of different events throughout the year.
London was very expensive, however I expected this.
There were plenty of bars although these tended to be full of older people. I socialised in other areas of London.
There were opportunities to join sports teams, however I did not.
