About You
It was a great experience and really gave me an insight into what an accountancy career entailed.
Very well, we worked in groups with volunteers from BDO Coming round to help us with free lunch and drinks
We were more challenged on how to approach difficult situations and what we would have done in these situations. We were asked to think outside the box and work in groups so that we could collaborate in order to achieve a file piece of work
It has really enabled me to ensure that I am choosing the right degree to study at university. It consolidated my knowledge on accountancy and ensured that I knew what audit was and what the job description entails
The Company
Very well structured. There was a format to the day which we were told about at the beginning of the session and the day ran very smoothly and there were no exercises which ran on too long or that were too short. All the timing was sufficient in order to achieve the specific outcome
Very good. There were manu different age groups and different schools at the insight day. It was nice to work in groups with people who you had never met before and who also had very different backgrounds to myself. There were people from all over the country there in order to get an insight into this business.
There was not much personal training as it was just an insight day as to what businesses want to achieve and how accountancy can help with this
It was very good at helping me understand as I didn't know that I definitely wanted to be an accountant but by the end of the day I realised that I could combine my passion for mathematics with a chosen career path in accountancy
Well. I could understand that the company valued all its employees and that it wanted the best for the people who worked there. We got to look around the office and it seems to be a relaxed atmosphere where people wanted to work hard
Very good. As I said earlier the explanations showed me that accountancy was the career path that I wanted to follow
Everything Else
I didn't ask to be reimbursed my expenses and it was an insight day so didnt expect to be paid
2 employees and the manager came in to talk to us and to give us an insight into what they do on a daily basis and what types of careers are available within an accountancy firm
Very good. I Met lots of new people with different backgrounds and who were all there for very different reasons
Not really, this is an area that could be improved upon although im sure if someone asked the question then we would have been provided with a sufficient answer
Yes it was very good and really helped me to choose the degree o wanted to do
