The Role
My work was recognised by an Excellence Award.
My manager was extremely supportive and was always on hand to answer questions and talk queries through with me.
There were times when i had to put in extra hours because of a large workload but this was counterbalanced by times where i had less to do.
The amount of responsibilty i was given was very much down to me. If i was uncomfortable with having it i could get support from my manager, however, if i wanted to take in responsibility i was able to do so.
More so for beyond my final year, what i have learnt is invaluable.
The Company
People travelled alot in my office so at times it was quiet, on other occasions it would be more busy. Whatever the situation the atmosphere made a nice working environment, everyone is friendly and approachable.
I had a fantastic handover with the previous student which was well prepared. I am also planning an in depth handover for the next student which i hope will be seamless. Everything was thought of to make sure the transition went perfectly and this helped me to settle in.
I have been encouraged from day one to participate in training, the company has invested so much in me in terms of what i have been trained in. If you want to go on loads of courses you are encouraged to. I even went to another Xerox office to participate in training.

Company Parties/Events
I would love to come back to Xerox, the company is working hard to ensure that existing students can come back as they seethe benifits of employing us as graduates. It would be very appealing to return.
The Culture
Yes!! There are about 60 students on site, with at least 30 more on other sites. We live together or near each other and go out together on a very regular basis. I will most certainly be keeping in touch with most of them!
Being so close to London it isn't cheap, but the company help with relocation of you are coming from afar. I got £250 towards my house. There is a university nearby so you can find student houses which are cheaper and also the clubs have student nights which helps with the costs.
Uxbridge has a couple of clubs and some bars and pubs, but often we travel to towns locally to go out as well. Sometimes we go into Central London as we are so close.
Due to the large student community there is always something going on outside of work. It is up to you how much or how little you want to be involved in. Recently we arranged a trip to Alton Towers but we have also had nights out to the cinema and shopping and so on.
