The Role
As an intern in the Digital team, I had the opportunity to work on a number of projects across the organization which I really enjoyed. It allowed me to gain experience of lots of different areas, and different projects, at CRUK
Everyone was really friendly and welcoming, and I immediately felt part of the team
My supervisor gave me lots of support and guidance throughout the internship. She helped me set my main objectives at the beginning, and we had weekly meetings to discuss how I was doing and how I could best fulfil my objectives.
I was given a number of projects throughout the internship, although I could have been given more
I was given a fair amount of responsibility - eg I was given a project to run myself
There was a lot of emphasis put on developing our skills and helping us to build experience that will be useful in the future - for both interviews and jobs. This was the most beneficial part of the internship. I was able to improve my presentation, research, and analytical skills, as well as work on projects that I will be able to use in interviews in the future. I also had training on Excel and Photoshop (as well as some basic use of Google Analytics) which I'm sure will be very useful in the future
The Company
Really great atmosphere. Everyone working hard and motivated, but also so upbeat and friendly.
Really well organized. Lots of other interns and social events which made it lots of fun. And interview practice and CV training sessions which were great
I was given a mentor, as well as a line manager, both of whom invested a lot of time in making sure I got the most out of the internship. Also, the volunteering team were great in organizing sessions for all the interns, such as CV and interview training
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Travel loan
I have applied for the grad scheme, it would be a great place to work
The Culture
Yes - lots of things organized. I always had lunch with other interns and there were drinks organized almost every week
It was in Angel - so London prices. But we were reimbursed for most of our travel, and £4 a day for food which was plenty
Again - central London. so good
Lots of opportunities to get involved in CRUK events. and team drinks quite regularly!
