The Role
While it was challenging it did not get to the point where I could not cope.
I did not expect to be welcomed as much as I was.
Management was always available when guidance was required.
The nature of the role was for the week to have certain periods that were more busy than others.
As time went I was given more responsibility, especially in the last six months of the placement.
The time IBM commit to one's personal development was the most valuable part of the placement, this was through the support of an excellent HR manager.
The Company
While it was very work centered, there were moments when we would relax as a team.
A few mior problems, but nothing that could not be resolved quickly.
As mentioned before a great deal f time was given to personal development. Fot personal training there were online facilities provided without any cost.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
No job was offered, this is as I am an international student and securing a work permit is an issue. However management are keen to help me to get employment in Africa.
The Culture
While very active, I must admit I was not the most active in the social scene.
Affordable.
IBM have a stong community outreach program, and I took part in this on numerous occassions.
