The Role
The job is quite challenging and varied with different clients. I always learned something new and gained incredible skills during the placement.
Very friendly colleagues and the teams make an effort to get to know you more.
Managers encourage you to ask questions and are very approachable. You can ask any colleague for help in your team and they will be happy to help.
Audit is quite cyclical and there is a busy season from around January to April where everyone will work longer hours. Other times of the year the work life balance is better and more stable.
Initially given things that any first year would do, which is already more for our level given that we have not graduated. By the end of the placement you were given more responsibility and accountability for your parts of the audit. It was well recognised and rewarded when you worked hard.
From simple things such as organisation of time and daily tasks, prioritising and managing the workflow to more complicated excel formulas and massive spreadsheets. Training was important as we did some of our exams towards the qualification.
The Company
Many different people with characters. There are always things happening and a chance to get involved in various fundraising events.
Really well organised throughout the year starting from the training and with the end of year party. They really look after you.
We started our professional qualification exams and had various training days.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
I am going to apply for it again next year and hope I will get a full time position there.
The Culture
Fellow placement students always organised something as well as the grads who worked with us.
Living in London is a bit more expensive than other cities
Anything you can imagine. London life is awesome.
Lots of social events, team drinks and audit meals. Opportunities to get involved with organising various events for the department and do voluntary work.
