The Role
The work was interesting and the environment very positive
My work and opinions were both taken seriously and I felt that I was making significant contributions to the project.
I was largely autonomous, which worked very well for me - but never without overall guidance and direction.
Never a dull moment
A significant amount of responsibility, particularly for developing new program features
Coordination and teamwork are essential for any technology based project, and I think this is where I learned the most from my time at EC Harris. It will be invaluable experience for future work.
The Company
Busy, it could be hard to concentrate when I had a difficult problem to solve and needed some peace, however this was made up for by the great atmosphere and how friendly other staff members were
It was highly focused on the group's project with little room for deviation, so the structure of the placement was very obviously defined
There was no personal training or development program
Financial Bonus
Excellent, I enjoyed the atmosphere and the work had a lot of creative freedom - which can be rare for mathematical/software development roles.
The Culture
Colleagues were very much up for a drink, and generally great people
Very high
Good / expensive
