The Role
Rewarding experience in a tight-knit team within a larger organisation
My work was always appreciated, evaluated and I was treated as another member of the team, rather than as a "placement student"
My direct line manager was very supportive despite a busy role.
There were days I could have been more busy however the workload seemed appropriate.
Some of my programs are currently running on a daily schedule
Learned SAS dataset management programming language and have been using a similar language in my studies this year.
The Company
Friendly, team banter
Placement students were expected to recruit the next years placement students which was a very interesting and insightful role.
I was sent on training courses and more were approved however sadly there were not enough places to accommodate everyone
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
I intend to apply for graduate or regular roles within the organisation
The Culture
A honeymoon period that ended rather quickly however there were a few of us that remained close throughout the year. Socializing with graduates and teammates was also good fun
Guildford is very expensive!
I had the advantage of the University's union club to go to but otherwise Guildford isn't known for a buzzing nightlife
Football, rugby, netball, futsal, company parties
