The Role
I have had a fantastic time on my placement, it has been a truly valuable experience as I get a lot of responsibility that other organisations do not offer. The reason I did not rate it 100%, is because I felt interns were often taken advantage of.
I think my team were very appreciative of the work I have produced for them.
I always felt I could approach my managers for support/guidance with work - however it is down to the individual to approach your manager for help.
My role was very busy, but as long as you can prioritise it is achievable.
The amount of responsibility given to me was at first quite overwhelming, but after a couple of months it is a compliment that people have so much trust in your work and responsibilities.
I have learnt an enormous amount about my skills in the work place, I have often had to reflect on these in placement assignments for my university and had valuable discussions with my line manager. It has also helped to make the link between theory and practice, which I can implement in my final year studies.
The Company
The general atmosphere in our section of the office was always positive, however this did not translate throughout the whole office.
Some roles seemed more work-heavy than others, and there did not seem to be a consistent balance of work across interns.
There were a few projects to get involved in to gain personal development, however there was little investment in the intern community. I was one of few who had the opportunity to travel to Paris with work, which I was very grateful for. A huge benefit which Disney did provide was the Travel Loan Scheme - borrowing money to cover travel, and repay out of each wage over 10 months.

Future employment prospects within The Walt Disney Company have not been identified/outlined to me, however I have been exposed to key contacts within the company which has enabled me to build a network for potential employment opportunities when I graduate.
The Culture
There are usually weekly monthly socials within our department, and I made friends within the department which extended my social life.
London is quite costly - I would recommend getting the student loan to help if living in London!
There are many bars in the area that we use for our monthly socials.
There are many opportunities to get involved in activities with the Volunteers scheme. There were also sports teams to join - I played for the netball team for the first few months of my placement.
