About You
I enjoyed the interactions with trainees, partners and the graduate recruitment team. Several partners of the firm attended the networking lunch, which was fantastic and rare at most law firm open days. The commercial awareness session was also quite helpful.
The firm was very welcoming. The litigation partner, Alistair Graham, who gave the introduction speech was very enthusiastic.
The graduate recruitment team was very kind in answering questions I had regarding the application process.
The Company
The day was well structured with presentations from different partners in the morning, followed by trainees session, lunch, tour of the office and skills session. The skills session was a bit rushed. I felt that it would be great to have more time for the analysis presentation so that everyone in the group could get a chance to present.
We were able to learn more about Mayer Brown in a relaxed, yet engaging environment.
The open day was a great opportunity to learn more about the firm first-hand before applying for a vacation scheme.
Talking to the trainees gave me a better understanding of what it would be like to be a trainee at the firm and the work it will entail. I had the opportunity to talk to a trainee in the Real Estate seat, which is an area of my interest.
Everyone I had met was friendly and positive, which shows that they are happy to be working at the firm.
I have no doubt that I want to pursue a career in commercial law. The content of the day was helpful in deciding whether Mayer Brown could potentially be a firm I see myself working at.
Everything Else
I will be reimbursed for travel expenses.
Yes, I met partners, trainees and two members of the graduate recruitment team.
The networking lunch was excellent. Though it was a bit of a challenge holding a plate for a prolonged period of time and trying to eat without a table to rest the plate on.
Yes- sports teams, pro-bono work, and social events.
Yes if they are interested in a global commercial law firm.
