The Role
Excellent supervisor and line manager. Fortnight meetings with my supervisor to check my progress. Always pushed but supported at the same time.
It has helped me to understand how my University course can be applied to real engineering problems. However, the majority of projects I worked on involved completely new concepts which was great. I also went to many 'lunch and learns' which helped me to understand other disciplines within the company.
The Company
Very quiet. The whole team was never in the office at the same because many of the team members travel regularly. Quite normal for only half the desks to be occupied.
I went on many training courses throughout the placement and my work was aimed at improving my competence in all areas.

The Culture
Excellent during the summer when the summer interns were around. The social scene was not as good after this because I was the only year intern. There were many graduates around though.
Well it's near London so it's not going to be cheap but I was given extra money on top of my wage to help pay for my accommodation.
Poor night life near the office but easy enough to get into central London so not too much of a problem. Sometimes went for a drink after work in sports club.
Lots of opportunities when the summer interns were around, less so after they left but some graduate events organised which I could go along to.
