The Role
The whole experience was amazing from the start to the finish. Everyone is so open to you getting as involved as possible in everything.
You are always given your own responsibilities and deadlines to meet. At time you may feel jobs are meaningless but it just builds on your overall office experience that you need later, like expenses or taking notes for meetings.
Management, team, and departmental support couldn't be higher. At all time people are helpful, friendly, and supportive.
There were busy periods with my role but at any time I wasn't busy I could find someone else in the team and offer my help.
A lot. Disney gives you some level of responsibility from the start. The better you get, the deeper your understanding, and the more interest you show the more responsibility you will be given.
Hugely! Working in Disney teaches you how to motivate yourself because your manager isn't constantly looking over your shoulder checking you're getting work done. It also helped me to learn how to prioritise, approach other professionals and many other basic office / professional situations.
The Company
Work hard, play hard. Everyone here has serious jobs and deadlines to meet but there is always a level of fun in the office. Many team events take place, you're allowed to pop downstairs for a movie screening, bring kids in to the cinema, share Disneyland passes, decorate your desks, throw festive parties. Many teams get together after work for team building/ drinks. And the intern community is a very tight one.
Very well organised. At all times I knew what I was doing, I was very supported by my manager and team. Once a week I would meet with my manager to discus my workload and go over any outstanding work. Employees also have to set their own goals in order to grow and develop.
All the time possible. At no point was anyone ever to busy to sit down with me. At the very beginning the previous Intern stayed for 1 month teaching me all I would need to do. I was introduced to as many people as possible in order to gain a better understanding of the company, job roles, personal development, and to help myself network within the company. I attended many 'Disney University' and 'Talks with' during my placement which gave me the opportunity to attend talks on new Disney Ideas/ Projects and give me an insight into how the higher up employees got to where they are. I was also given training on multiple software used within the company.

I am very interested in coming back to Disney after I graduate. After a year in the industry I am not sure I would re enter the department I am within for personal preferences. But I would definitely reapply for one of the many graduate roles.
The Culture
Many interns live together but if you don't live with interns the social scene is still good. There are many intern events and drinks after work. Nearly all interns eat in the canteen in lunch together. By the end of your placement you will know all the interns.
I actually lived outside of the immediate office area so it is a bit cheaper. Many interns live together so it is not too expensive. The average monthly payment is £600 per month. It is quite expensive but it is also in West London which is cheaper than Central London.
There are a lot of bars near by but the tubes and buses are easy to get around Central London. Its a fun night out where ever you go.
Amazing. A lot of really good opportunities to get involved in a number of different charities.
