The Role
It wasn't as good as I thought it would be, I didn't have a lot to do and the tasks were repetitive. However seeing how a multinational operates is interesting and good experience.
I felt valued to some extent, I was given responsibilities that were important, however you are made to feel like an intern.
I wasn't given a whole lot of guidance by my manager - I had to organise catch up meetings to let her know of any issues I had. However my supervisor was excellent and really supportive, answering any questions i needed and always offered her help.
It varied - some days I had lots to do, others I would be wishing the hours away as I had nothing to do.
Not a great amount - I had the same tasks to do everyday. Although they were of some importance, nothing new or challenging was ever given to me.
Not a great amount, I didn't gain any practical skills, i.e. leadership, communication, managerial or communication with clients. This was a shame as I thought it would really help my studies. However, I am sure that the day to day activities of the business can be applied to my studies in the future.
The Company
Very happy, enthusiastic and enjoyable. I really enjoyed working with my team. Everyone was chatty and friendly.
Personally I don't think there was enough structure to the placement - In my department anyway. No clear goals/objectives or challenges were set or discussed.
There were a few opportunities to take part in training courses that the company ran.
Flexi Time
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Not too appealing! If I had an opportunity to work in a different department then I may consider returning.
The Culture
No, none of the interns socialised really - it was a shame.
Very expensive - the majority of my wage went on rent due to living in London.
Not great.
They had a volunteer program - however it was not that easy to get involved in.
