The Role
The opportunities present were enormous and I was always challenged.
With the organisation being so vast this is a difficult question. My skills were valued and I was treated with respect
Regular review meetings, and clear progression guidance
Workload was unevenly distributed through the quarter structure but there was sufficient opportunity to take on new responsibilities and progress
I progressed and took ownership of the division I was supporting
Enabled me to put practical skills in conversation with theoretical knowledge. Left me in a good frame of mind to progress to third year with an eagerness to return
The Company
Flexible work practices were available so some days the office could be quiet. On the other hand, you could work from home if required or attend different locations and work remotely
Very well, Foundation is a solid division
Online resources were available and I was placed on various training courses
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
There is a clear progression route and IBM embrace people who want to do well
The Culture
Brilliant, a large volume of students were on placement, additionally the use of the latest collaboration software enabled you to instant message to stay in contact
London is expensive, however there were several towns close by that had large social scenes and were reasonable
The offices were in a office park in a area that would not be considered as a good night out! The local areas were great and good transport links
Tonnes! Great social aspect, and various opportunity to be involved in the community
