The Role
Overall, I throughly enjoyed my job role. It is very varied and no two days are the same. I work with a lot of different people, which makes the role more interesting. Having said that, I found it frustrating at times because I was constantly chasing people and coming across internal problems meaning that both suppliers and customers suffered. Parts of the job were difficult, but I still enjoyed the job in general
I feel like I have a positive impact on my team, and they rely on me to to do their jobs and vice versa.
I have been given the full support of my manager, both when faced with dificult problems and in offering to support me in whatever I wanted to do within the role and the company.
I have rarely had nothing to do. Usually it is busy, and with tight deadlines, things are often a rush. However, there have been times, particularly at the beginning of the year when things were less fast paced, which was good at the time as it gave me a chance to settle into the role
I felt like I have been given a high level of responsibility. This is because I am frequently the only member of my team in the office, so am left to deal with a lot of queries often with nobody to ask for help if I am stuck. Also there is a high amount of responsiblity intrinsic to most of the role when working with important customer contracts and financial information. However, having said that, like most student roles there is one part of my job which can get a bit 'adminy' - but this is only a small part of my job and generally I feel like I have a great deal of responsibility.
The skills I have developed will assist me beyond the final year of uni. I feel my communication skills have greatly improved, and my confidence has increased by being thrown in the deep end. The training has been useful, in particular the Lean Six Sigma qualification and I hope this will help in my final year and in securing a graduate role.
The Company
The general atmosphere was very good. I am in a small team and we have a very good relationship. # The only negative point was that my team were often away, which meant there weren't people sitting around me, but there are plenty of people nearby/walking past.
The placement scheme itself was well set up as xerox have many placement students. I had trouble getting my log-in to one particular system, but this wasn't to do with the placement scheme.
I felt the company has invested quite a lot in me, but this has come mainly from my manager who has been keen for me to learn as much as I can within the year. He has encouraged me to visit other Xerox and customer sites as much as I can to benefit my own learning and development rather than for my job. The company invest a certain amount in students, but I think this is limited given we are only going to be there for a year.

Above 25 days holiday
I have entered my cv into the 'talent pool' to be told about future graduate vacancies. I would definitely consider a role back at Xerox
The Culture
With over 60 students on the Uxbridge site the social scene is excellent. Living in university halls for the first two months was a really good experience, and was just like being back at uni.
Quite a high living cost, but could afford regular nights out.
There are a few pubs and a club in Uxbridge, but being only a tube ride away from London meant that nights out in the city and surrounding were possible
There were a few- a couple of sports teams, but I wasn't really interested in these.
