The Role
Generally, I enjoyed the level of responsibility I was given by my line manager, and the work-life balance offered at the company.
As an intern, I appreciated that I was able to work with an integrated team to deliver my responsibilities and tasks set to arrive at a common goal for the clients.
Throughout my internship, my line manager was able to constantly provide support and guidance where I needed it most to enhance my learning experience of the industry and become more accustomed with appropriate skills required for the role.
I was 80% busy with tasks set by my line manager or by fellow colleagues.
The tasks set by my line manager and colleagues ensured that I had full responsibility to deliver the tasks at the highest standard as my contribution would be used to forecast and help achieve the client's requirements.
The skills that I have gathered from using excel and BIMcad have consolidated my Quantity Surveying skills and accounting skills, which will prove useful not only in my final year of studies but for a future in Quantity Surveying with EC Harris.
The Company
The general office atmosphere was collegial, friendly and relaxed.
Very well.
EC Harris in general are able to continuously improve my training and development in not only one department but in another department. This rotational structure ensured that I was able to capture a broad depth of skills and get to understand the various functions in the company to get an idea of which department interested me most.
