The Role
The internship was hard work but equally extremely enjoyable and I learnt a lot in a short space of time
You get very close to the others on Extreme Blue as you all live and work together for the 3 months you are there
It is your own project and you are encouraged to approach it as you see fit, but you are given a mentor to guide you and people are always willing to help you.
It's your own project so as a team you are creating your own work and are managing yourself
It really helped me put lectures into practice and get a glimpse into the world of work. It also fuelled my interest in various technologies, which allowed me to be more adventurous with some of my information management essays and projects. It also dramatically improved my presentation ability, which has since proved so helpful.
The Company
The office at Hursley is a great place to work and we had a lot of fun together there
It was very well organised and run to help you develop and learn a lot in the short time given. Your accommodation is also organised for you which helps a huge amount.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
International Travel
We had the opportunity to undertake the interviews for the grad scheme whilst we were at work in the summer. I was offered a job although they are currently not recruiting in my preferred area of work
The Culture
There are a lot of pubs in the area, however there is easy access to Southampton where there was more to do
There weren't many opportunities however there is a gym at the office and there is a local health centre that I chose to use. We were only there for 3 months and there was enough to do in that time
