About You
The spring week was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. There were ample networking opportunities and presentations available to discover more about the firm and its line of services,
During the spring week, it was apparent that the firm wanted many of us to work for them as they believed we were talented undergraduates. Additionally, members of staff were always making an effort with everyone. This made the experience more valuable as you did not feel like just another number.
There was a fair amount of guidance regarding what the firm was looking for and how to fit in at the firm etc.
Aside from the psychometric tests, I participated in a group exercise as well as a group presentation that was delivered to a senior partner. This strengthened interpersonal skills, verbal communication skills and most certainly refined my ability to work with others from a wide array of backgrounds in a corporate environment.
The Company
The insight was really well structured. From the outset, I was presented with a booklet which detailed exactly what was taking place over the 3 days. The event was also extremely punctual with hardly anything going over its set time.
It was certainly an intense 3 days with a great deal to do, however, the other people there were extremely friendly and sociable. This helped put me at ease. So in general, the atmosphere was really nice.
They gave structured feedback on all tasks at the end, so I would say a considerable amount.
There were so many opportunities to help you understand how it would be like working at the firm (Presentations, networking opportunities with staff, dinner with senior partners etc)
A speech was given at the beginning which discussed the company culture, this was also emphasized consistently during presentations.
The spring week really helped me decide what service sector I wanted to go into better than any careers event I have attended in the past. This, however, may be down to the fact that I already knew that I wanted to work for an accounting firm, so perhaps it allowed me to become more specific with my career path.
Everything Else
I was fully reimbursed for my travel expenses, the hotel and food were all paid for by the company.
Staff gave details regarding several sporting events, a pantomime and several other events it was possible to get involved in.
Most definitely.
