About You
Thoroughly enjoyable open day. We were welcomed and given drinks and refreshments. There was always interesting and varied people to talk to. I think the number of people there (about 25-30) was a perfect number for it as each individual felt included and had time to have their questions answered.
Very valued. The firm took time to answer individual questions and seemed to want you not only to apply to a training contract, but be successful in it. I met so many different people on the day, from partners to trainees - showing the time and effort put into the day.
Lots of guidance. We were told at every stage what would be happening and there was no point at which you felt unsupported.
We were given extensive advice on application form writing and interviews, especially tailoring it to Taylor Wessing. Perhaps the most valuable activity we did was the 'business game' which aimed to replicate the tasks you could face in assessment centres. We were given great feedback on this.
The Company
Well structured, comprising of various talks, a lunch with some trainees and concluding with the business game.
Very friendly. The firm wasn't out to be intimidating in the slightest. There were the right amount of attendees for it to be inclusive and enjoyable for all.
Senior partners, managing partners and lots of trainees took time out of their day to speak to us. There was a lunch put on. There was significant effort into the development of our skills.
I got a great understanding of the firm's strategy, the work they do and the atmosphere of the firm.
The trainee lunch was the best for this and the trainees were all very frank. The fact that the trainees seemed to get on so well within themselves was indicative of a friendly atmosphere. "team-work" is a buzzword because of the nature of the work at TW.
Helped to confirm my intuitions.
Everything Else
Yes see above. Wide range including grad recruitment partners and senior partners.
Had a lunch and drinks at the end. Both primarily with trainees.
We were made aware of the social life and significant pro-bono activities that TW have on offer.
Couldn't recommend it highly enough.
