About You
I thoroughly enjoyed the Open Day at Taylor Wessing. The day was rewarding, engaging and at times extremely comical. The hilarious presentation by Partner Roland Mallinson is particularly worth mentioning. Roland provided an in-depth overview of the firm and his own practice area. The activities throughout the day were all interesting and tailored to our needs. Further, I felt employees from all levels went out of their way to make the day enjoyable for us.
All the employees I spoke to made me feel extremely welcome and at ease. I felt everyone that I spoke to from Trainees to Partners were genuinely interested in what I had to say and made me feel valued. It meant a lot that they had taken time out of their day to come and meet all of us and get involved with our insight into the firm.
The structured support was invaluable, especially the overview of the application process and life as a trainee. In addition to this, the informal networking opportunities provided us with the ability to talk to Partners, Trainees and Sarah Harte from Graduate Recruitment. Everyone that I spoke to offered me really helpful advice for applying and were happy to tell me more about what life as a Trainee at Taylor Wessing is like.
The information I received will undoubtably assist me with applying to Taylor Wessing. However, I also liked how during one session the Partners gave us really helpful advice on applying to other firms such as those who accept a CV and covering letter. The Business Game was incredibly fun and rewarding with the prize being a weeks paid work experience with Taylor Wessing. The Business Game was also a great way to practice an the type of exercise used on assessment days.
The Company
The insight was very well structured. There was a clear timetable and this was stuck to throughout the day providing us with a balance between the different activities and plenty of breaks.
All of the Taylor Wessing staff were extremely friendly and helped to create a really great atmosphere during the day. In addition to this, the attendees were also incredibly friendly and approachable.
I feel the firm invested a lot of time and energy in my understanding of the firm and future development. All of the activities were designed to further knowledge and skills including the Business Game at the end of the day.
I found the day to be extremely beneficial in understanding what day to day life is like at the firm. All the Partners were happy to answer questions about their work and the Trainees were equally happy to honestly answer questions about the work life balance at the firm.
Through the informal networking I felt I gained a valuable insight in to the culture of Taylor Wessing. It was nice to see employees from all levels interacting with each other so comfortably.
The day helped me a lot in deciding on a future career path. The Partners and trainees answered questions honestly about their careers and their development.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed travel expenses.
Yes, the firm provided us with lunch and then networking drinks at the end of the day where we were able to network with employees.
The networking / social opportunities were very good. The atmosphere was great and allowed us to comfortably ask questions.
Although not part of any of the presentations, the trainees were happy to tell us about activities / societies at the firm.
Yes. It has been an invaluable experience that I would recommend to anybody.
