    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Quite well organised. Thanks to all the lectures and seminars got a better idea of how the company is structured and how all the departments connect. On many occasions I had the chance to meet and talk with people who work for the company. Greatly week for networking.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Greatly. Everybody from HR did a great job. We had accommodation provided beforehand, so one thing less to worry about. Eventually I took part in a feedback session - the opinion of the participants was greatly valued.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Reasonable amount - I had 2 shadowing sessions and both people I got to shadow were quite friendly. Both gave me useful advices in terms of what should I look for before applying.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • In my degree - not much - since I am studying a Computer Science degree, but they would hopefully contribute my future since I am planning to apply for the Technology department of the company.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Quite well. There was a programme for the whole week. The schedules were tight but at the same time the atmosphere was relaxed and calm. The first day was an introductory day and after that things gradually started to change for people from different departments.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed initially, but at the same time we were shown that there are a lot of opportunities (especially for networking) and that we should take them. After the first day things gradually became more vibrant until the end when everybody had group presentations - then, I dare to say, things became a bit competitive.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Apart from the shadowing sessions and the feedback session there were no other personal activities. All the the lectures and seminars were group ones.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • To a reasonable extend. The shadowing sessions were truly valuable for this aspect but at the same time you can only see certain parts of the everyday life of a full time employee. They did, however, share a lot about their workplace and how a typical day goes.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Not much unfortunately. During the lectures and seminars one could notice everything that is typical for the culture of such a big company. I did not learn anything new for the culture that I did not know from the brochures and the website.

    3/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It only further strengthened my decision to apply for a summer internship at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was fully reimbursed for my travelling expenses. Accommodation was provided.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Plenty. At least 2 per day (excluding the shadowing sessions) with people from across the company.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The one thing I did not like about the networking/social events was that they were during lunch where most people would first line for food and then would not be able to communicate well while eating. A better idea is to hold these event during tea time - it's much easier to talk with a cup of coffee in your hand than with a sandwich.

    3/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • 5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Definitely.
