The Role
I enjoyed every day of my placement and was very sad to leave.
I had quieter periods and periods when I was extremely busy. But most of the time it was the perfect balance.
I would have loved to have more responsibility.
My placement year was an invaluable experience. It boosted my confidence, communication and teamwork skills. Taking a year out to do the placement was the best decision I could have made.
The Company
Sometimes it was a little boring but most of the time I was really enjoying it.
I had my own Personal Development Manager who I could always ask for help. IBM also organised many development road shows and classes for students.

IBM haven't employed marketing graduates for a few years now and it looks like they are not going to do it this year either.
The Culture
IBM employed 250 other placement students. In the location where I was based, there were 70 of us. We always had lunch together, organised socials and weekends together. It was an amazing atmosphere!
It was quite cheap for the South.
The night clubs were a bit of a nightmare..
IBM offers excellent opportunities to get involved with voluntary give back activities - giving back to the community. I took advantage of this posibility, and so did most of the other students. It was an excellent experience.
