The Role
My internship was meaningful and enriching professionally as well as personally. It gave me the opportunity to gain experience and skills by taking part into international projects, build a strong professional network, meet inspiring people and be involved in community events.
I felt very welcomed and supported by my colleagues. My responsibilities grew throughout my internship and my work has been valued by my supervisor and the teams I was working with.
I was given support and guidance anytime I needed.
My schedule was more or less busy depending on the week but I had always something to do and could look for new projects or reach out to colleagues to learn more about their work.
I worked on a huge international project that involved experienced IT teams in the US and Network Planning & Operations teams in EMEA.
Beyond developing skills with my tasks, I benefited from a broad range of trainings available on Verizon's intranet. This helped me gaining technical skills related to my degree studies i.e. IT and Telecommunications but also in Business and Project Management. Additionally, I had an in-depth understanding on the way projects are managed in 100 Fortune Company and more generally on the company's strategy.
The Company
It was friendly but the new shared desk policy made the work place sometimes loud.
The internship was very well set up and everything is done so that the internship meets your expectations.
Beyond the trainings, lots of events (leadership events, monthly meetings with the Internship Programme Manager and other interns) were organized throughout the internship.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Most open opportunities were senior positions at the end of my internship but HRs and colleagues do look for opportunities and keep you on the radar even after the internship.
The Culture
Afterworks, dinners and other social activities are organized depending on the personal life and schedule of each one.
I worked in Paris where life and especially accommodation is expensive.
Paris is rightly known for its nightlife!
Sports, events, charities, organizations among others are activities you can get involved in.
