About You
The activities that were planned gave a great insight into Asset Management. We were introduced to Investments, Analytics, and Client Business, and given a clear indication as to the differences between each division.
The staff at the firm were very friendly and helpful.
Ms. Kemp from Campus Recruitment was very clear in discussing the application process, and answered all of our questions about it.
The information received will help a lot in applying for insight programmes and internships at BlackRock.
The Company
I thought the activities went very smoothly but the networking session was haphazardly organised. If it were pre-planned so that we were, as groups, assigned one person from the firm to speak to for, say, 10 mins, and then rotated around a number of different representatives, it would have been easier. What actually happened is that we were put into a lobby with representatives from BlackRock whom we had to seek out in a room of about 90 people.
The representatives of the firm were all very friendly.
BlackRock were kind enough to reimburse our travel expenses, which helped a lot.
This was talked about by a number of speakers, and was covered in good detail.
The representatives at BlackRock all made a concerted effort to discuss the company's culture, which was very helpful.
The activities were helpful in narrowing down my choice of division, and the insight at BlackRock has encouraged me to apply to their Spring Insight programme next year.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed expenses.
Yes, but they weren't particularly good.
Not particularly good, but I felt the rest of the event compensated for this.
This wasn't really the focus of the event, but I feel it was covered in adequate detail.
It gave me a valuable insight into BlackRock as a firm and will help me in my application to them next year - so, definitely.
