The Role
My work placement was very enjoyable. I worked in a great team that supported my transfer from University to work very well.
I felt very valued by my colleagues, however at times my responsibilities did not match my authority making if difficult to carry out some tasks.
My manager was great and helped support me throughout my placement. However, at times my manager was very busy so it was difficult to arrange meetings.
At the beginning of my internship I became quite busy with a variety of projects which I very much enjoyed. However, towards the end of my placement (around the last 3 months) I found it difficult to keep busy all of the time. However, I used this to my advantage and got involved with different departments to gain further experience.
I was given very much responsibility on my placement which I enjoyed very much, However, at times I feel that my responsibilities were greater than my authority making it difficult to complete tasks.
In the second year of my studies I was achieving around a mid 2:2 after undertaking my placement I am half way through my third year and am on for a high 1st. I feel that the skills I developed on my internship has significantly contributed to my final year grades and I am very pleased with the results
The Company
Wonderful atmosphere, working with great people. However I would say at times it can be difficult to work with other interns due to it being a competition and 'getting noticed'.
Great, organised by my manager with the opportunity to be a bit of a free spirit at the same time.
Yes I did undergo one set of training which was a week long at another site. I was happy with this as the time frame I was there it was difficult to have time. Also there was continuous training that had to be completed on the computer.
Flexi Time
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare/Dental
Very appealing, I have recently secured a position at another site due my internship.
The Culture
Yes, if you wanted to go out there was often intern nights out.
I was in Cheltenham so quite expensive however you get paid enough to enjoy yourself.
Yeah good, except it wasn't really my scene.
Yes, loads of opportunities to volunteer get involved with sports activities, days out etc.
