The Role
I absolutely loved this placement. The work was very varied and i gained lots of experience. I definately want to work for a FMCG company in the future
My close knit team members were great and everyone is really laid back and open, you can ask them everything. As the head office only has a couple hundred people you get to know everyone and everyone is so friendly.
If i had any questions or queries, i could always ask and they would ALWAYS try their best to help me answer it or solve my problems. They is always someone to talk to and my team and lline managers really wanted me to succeed. To do this i was given a lot of responsibility.
It varies! sometimes i can be very very busy and other days looking for things to do. However there is always something todo so i was never bored
I was able to run part of the online business and had a huge amount of responsiblility whilst on placement. I was given the responsibility due to my capabilites and it meant i gained a lot more from the experience.
I have learnt so much commercial and industrial knowelge as well as improving my systems knowledge. It will help me so much in the future especially as now i want to work in a similar field.
The Company
Always lots of banter and a good positive atmoshphe. Sometimes it can get a little stressed but 99% of the time the atmoshphere is great.
The placement scheme was excellent. I got all the training i required when i first started and they really made me feel welcome.
I went on quite a few training courses but they were mainly Colgate based. But it will help me in the future
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
If a job becomes available, i can apply and am likely to have an interview, however they do not offer a graduate scheme.
The Culture
There are 7 placements and we all ate kunch and went out together. However it will all depend on who the other placement students are.
Guildford is a very expensive area to live and you will have to budget carefully!
Nightlife is a bit rubbish but there is quite aa few pubs and bars.
There wasnt much extra curricular activities to take advantage of, and if i generally went out after work it would be with the other students.
