The Role
Excellent fun and the best way to get to grips with what it would be like to work in a Commercial City Law firm.
The social events in particular really helped to bring us together as a group and I found all the Linklaters staff extremely approachable.
HR were always on hand either in person or by email or phone.
There was a combination of areas to the placement with the departmental work set by the principal, the project and the talks and social events. Every minute seemed to be accounted for.
I felt that when I was asked to do a task, it was very much my work and that my principal would guide me but the responsibility to do it well remained on me.
The skills learned on the placement were invaluable when considering a career in City Law. It also focused on presentation and writing skills which are extremely useful with regards to my current degree.
The Company
There is a definite buzz at Linklaters!
The organisation of the Vacation Scheme was immaculate and couldn't be faulted.
Personal training and development for everyone seemed a real goal of the Vacation Scheme.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Offered a Training Contract.
The Culture
Yes, the social events and Pro Bono elements to the scheme really helped us to get to know each other well.
I was living at home so it was only really the cost of transport.
As the office is in the City there is nightlife available all around you!
