The Role
I have really enjoyed my placement, I have been given numerous opportunities, worked on great projects and learned some new skills.
My team were all really helpful, and took time out to meet with me about their role in the charity. People in other teams were also really open to meeting with me and "inducting" me in to their teams, and I got the chance to work on projects outside the remit of my recruitment role.
My manager met with me several times a week, to discuss work and to have 1:1s - both of which were very useful. Aside from that I was allowed to plan my own time and set deadlines which would work with project timelines, so I had the time to develop project and self management skills in real-time situations.
I worked 5 days a week, 9-5 and had enough work to do for that. However, I also always took 1 hour for lunch and took internal opportunities to hear from teams and take part in festivals held within the charity so there was leeway there.
I have been responsible for organising an entire conference (with support) and managed two other projects alongside.
The development included presentation workshops, CV and interview skills and will all be very useful in job hunting and sorting a career trajectory. I plan to use my improved project management and communication skills to work more efficiently in my lab and complete my PhD.
The Company
Friendly, open and really warm.
Very well structured lots of opportunity to improve skills, either with individual teams or as a cohort of interns. The whole charity was aware who we were and very understanding while we learnt the ropes!
Very much so, we were trained in CV writing, interview technique and presentation skills. We were encouraged to explore the company and teams as much as possible and take part in internal days. We also had access to internal job role adverts and could apply for these

Very - I would love to come back!
The Culture
Yes, my team often had social dinners and celebrated events together. The intern cohort were encouraged to meet up outside work and make lasting connections
Angel is not cheap but neither is the rest of London! The travel within zones 1-6 and lunch costs were also reimbursed which made it a lot easier.
Good, but I was living beyond tube station limits so did not take too many of these opportunities
Yes exercise classes are open to all, as well as lunches with other teams if you were asked.
