The Role
I enjoyed everything from the work set, to the office environment to the social culture amongst the interns
My team were always very thankful for every piece of work I completed and gave good feedback
My manager was extremely supportive throughout. We met every week to discuss my workload and she went out of her way to give me advice in the industry
Despite working 4-5 days a week I had plenty to keep me occupied everyday
I was trusted to manage and take responsibility of tasks but my team always wanted to check my work before it was completed
I am changing careers and I have learnt a lot of new skills that will help me to get into the Charity Sector
The Company
Everyone was friendly, positive and showed good morale, but my team were really busy all the time, which is normal in Events!
The internship itself was very neatly structured and also my team fit the interns into their environment well
Personal development was constantly encouraged from the start. It was recommended that we used the mentoring scheme, we were frequently sent volunteering and job opportunities and we were given training on CV, interview and presentation skills, which were all very useful

I would be more than happy to work at Cancer Research UK and applying for jobs in the company during or after the internship is very much encouraged
The Culture
Most interns had lunch together everyday and would go for "Thirsty Thursday" drinks after work
Islington is an expensive area of London but there are so many pubs and restaurants you can never be stuck for choice
There are a lot of pubs and bars in the area, no clubs, but some are quite expensive for an intern's income
Interns are encouraged to manage multiple fundraising projects and there were lots of opportunities to volunteer at events with different teams
