About You
The insight was interesting and gave us a view over the entire bank with targeted exercises to show us what team members do
We were constantly reminded that we were likely to be the future of the firm, the high calibre of the speakers also assisted in helping this valued feel
Questions were encouraged and the team were always present to assist
Very useful introduction to banking concepts and structure. Not particularly relevant to degree
The Company
The week was well structured with a close look at each of the departments, banking, markets, PCB and Barclaycard
The HR team worked hard to keep us working and interested
This was not all that relevant, though we were given opportunities to give feedback to our colleagues on their performance
The opportunity to shadow and the speed networking sessions were key in helping us discuss the role and understand what employees actually do
Barclays emphasises its values an awful lot, this helps show its commitment to development of culture.
The insight into the career was excellent. It allowed me to decide on a career in banking.
Everything Else
Reimbursement was made for all expenses, and those not near london were provided with excellent nearby accommodation
The program is heavily based on meeting employees and and networking with them this is an excellent opportunity
As above, there was plenty of networking opportunity. In the mid week we had an evening to network with our fellow spring weekers and a very high number of employees to give insight
Barclays do not offer many of these activities from what I gathered
