    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I felt the insight was a useful experience and I was able to meet a range of people. As such, I felt I came away from the insight with a lot of information about a wide range of divisions. I also enjoyed the activities that were offered to us during the internship.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt that the representatives from Campus Recruitment valued our opinion about the process and Barclays as a firm. In particular, I felt there was a desire for us to consider the 'FastTrack' to join the Summer Internship and stay within the firm.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Throughout the insight there were a range of people available to answer our questions, regardless of their experience/background. The answers were given were also helpful for me in forming a decision about whether the firm was the right fit for me.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Some of the insights will help me with my career goals (i.e. networking and interview tips) but there was limited assistance in understanding the information of my degree.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Every part of the insight was time allocated and we received this information at the beginning of the week, which mean the insight flowed well.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Positive atmosphere not only within Functions, but also with the Technology and Front Office interns.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Offered networking and interview tips which will be useful to apply in a non-Barclays context.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Helped explain what the roles would be like for someone through the graduate scheme, but beyond that we had limited insight.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Explained the values and history of Barclays right from the start of the week.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Helpful in deciding whether or not Barclays was a firm I would consider joining, along with whether finance as an industry was something that appealed to me.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Travel expenses reimbursed through £250 allocation for costs during the insight.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Lots of networking opportunities scheduled into each day.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Networking event was throughly enjoyable, social opportunities were organised by the interns but were helpful in establishing links with other students.

    4/5

  • Sports teams but little information about non-work-orientated experiences.
