About You
I felt the insight was a useful experience and I was able to meet a range of people. As such, I felt I came away from the insight with a lot of information about a wide range of divisions. I also enjoyed the activities that were offered to us during the internship.
I felt that the representatives from Campus Recruitment valued our opinion about the process and Barclays as a firm. In particular, I felt there was a desire for us to consider the 'FastTrack' to join the Summer Internship and stay within the firm.
Throughout the insight there were a range of people available to answer our questions, regardless of their experience/background. The answers were given were also helpful for me in forming a decision about whether the firm was the right fit for me.
Some of the insights will help me with my career goals (i.e. networking and interview tips) but there was limited assistance in understanding the information of my degree.
The Company
Every part of the insight was time allocated and we received this information at the beginning of the week, which mean the insight flowed well.
Positive atmosphere not only within Functions, but also with the Technology and Front Office interns.
Offered networking and interview tips which will be useful to apply in a non-Barclays context.
Helped explain what the roles would be like for someone through the graduate scheme, but beyond that we had limited insight.
Explained the values and history of Barclays right from the start of the week.
Helpful in deciding whether or not Barclays was a firm I would consider joining, along with whether finance as an industry was something that appealed to me.
Everything Else
Travel expenses reimbursed through £250 allocation for costs during the insight.
Lots of networking opportunities scheduled into each day.
Networking event was throughly enjoyable, social opportunities were organised by the interns but were helpful in establishing links with other students.
Sports teams but little information about non-work-orientated experiences.
Definitely.
