About You
I have really enjoyed the week and feel that I have gained a good insight into Barclays and its business functions.
I definitely feel like a valued member of the bank and feel that Barclays has spent time on our development as interns.
I received quite a lot of guidance and support from the recruitment team and feel like there have been a lot of people available to answer any questions that I may have.
The group project that we have been working on is quite relevant to my studies in Economics. Also, my presentation and teamwork skills have been developed as a result of this.
The Company
We were given a timetable for the week, which was very busy, but well organised and structured.
There has been a great atmosphere throughout the insight.
Workshops on networking, presentation skills and interview skills have been a good way to develop my personal training.
It was very helpful to get an insight into the full-time roles, especially graduate roles, within Barclays.
I got a great insight into the company culture by interacting with different members of Barclays, from grads to business reps.
There were many presentations throughout the week which informed us on the different functions within Barclays, which was useful in helping me decide which function's summer internship I wanted to apply for.
Everything Else
My accommodation in Canary Wharf was paid for, because I live more than 90 minutes away from London. Also, we were reimbursed £250 for expenses, though breakfast and lunch was provided every day! Also, travel expenses from my house to London were also reimbursed.
Yes, there were many networking sessions throughout the week, as well as a networking evening on Wednesday, which was a great opportunity to meet different employees from the bank.
Extremely useful to meet new people and find out more about their roles in the bank.
Yes - employees can get involves in sports teams, give back tothe community, etc. Barclays places a big emphasis on a good work-life balance.
Yes, definitely!
