The Role
It was a brief but worthwhile insight into the typical workflow within an actuarial role.
They were welcoming and helpful throughout
I was well directed over the week, and I felt that I was allowed to get what I needed from the placement.
Despite being unfamiliar with many of the concepts prior to my placement, I was encouraged to take part in several pieces of work over the week.
Again, given my inexperience it was difficult to overburden me with duties but I felt as if an effort was made to give me a taste of what the role involves.
I am certain that it will have been a worthwhile exercise, both as an instructive insight into what an actuary does and as an opportunity to meet people within the industry.
The Company
Professional but without anyone being unapproachable.
It was well organised.
I was given access to individuals in differing roles, thereby gaining a fuller appreciation of the scope of work undertaken by the team.
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing, and I would hope to apply for the graduate scheme ASAP
