The Role
There were highs and lows as with any job but on the whole was good
It was hard for me to do anything to help them in many ways but the main evaluation project i completed helped greatly
I had regular supervision with placement supervisor to talk through any issues and future work
The work came relatively regularly but did tail off a few times where i was then left to find something to do myself
It was hard to have responsibility in many respects as i am not trained as a psychologist, however in certain situations i was able to take responsibilty for certain children
I think it has been very useful for the future, i have learnt a lot through reading and also shadowing many different professionals
The Company
Generally good, the high caseloads can create stress but the team gets along very well
Very well organised although the workload could have been better organised before i started
Not a great deal
Company Parties/Events
Whilst i have thouroughly enjoyed my placement, i feel my time had come to an end after 7 months. I think once fully trained and able to work properly with the other professionals and children it would be a very good place to work, if not slightly stressful!
The Culture
There was only one other postgraduate student who i saw very rarely
Placement was unpaid so did paid work at weekends to pay for travel to the placement
A couple of enjoyable 'team' days to improve team morale and time to get to know each other
