About You
Strong emphasis on trading, as well as finding out about all the different areas of the bank.
I felt valued which was significant, considering the large size of the Front Office programme.
Not too much support in terms of career development, but strong support for fast-tracking to summer.
I have more knowledge about all the respective divisions of the bank, however I haven't developed much more technical knowledge.
The Company
Very well planned out, with a full itinerary of presentations, networking events, case studies and role play-type assessments.
Positive, a lot of students in the same position in their career as me.
Good, strong push towards the fast track and expanding general knowledge of finance.
The work shadowing for M&A was more of a case study so in that sense, there wasn't a strong insight into an actual full-time role.
Strong insight into company culture from the diverse range of people in the bank that I was able to talk to.
The content was valuable in the sense that Barclays introduced us to a wide range of all the possible careers.
Everything Else
Yes, paid and reimbursed.
Yes, a few strong networking sessions.
One networking event that didn't have too many special attributes.
Not really.
Yes, but don't expect to gain more technical knowledge than the basics. What is given is a more industrial overview, which is nonetheless valuable.
