About You
I really really enjoyed the placement - there was so much to offer and it was a great experience.
At all times I felt as though my opinion really mattered. Everybody respected the fact that we all had something to contribute.
Guidance came in many forms and was more than adequate. We were always informed of what was going on and how the day would plan out. Also the information before we started was very extensive and covered all necessary information.
It helped because we had lots of people coming from all different divisions and so I could gain an insight into many areas within the bank.
The Company
Every single aspect was structured and every day had the right blend of interactivity and presentation. Also the timing was very almost always on point.
I expected it to be really competitive but actually when I got here everybody was really really supportive to one another and polite and not overly competitive.
Personally I did feel out of depth at some points because I didn't feel as though I was up to speed with all the technical details and terminology. But generally we were well trained and informed.
It was a very good insight into how the real life working life would be. This was confirmed during work shadowing.
The culture is very strong at Barclays especially with reference to the values. These were potently instilled into us at all times.
It was really helpful in that I met people from lots of different divisions and so could gain a better insight into what suits me best.
Everything Else
I was paid and reimbursed expenses.
The networking opportunities were great - I was initially apprehensive but I feel much more confident now.
They were really interactive and really successful in my opinion. Food was great!
Not extensively, but from what employees told me there is a strong social life outside of the working environment amid the other employees.
I would definitely recommend it.
