About You
I enjoyed it very much. The insight was very interesting for the most part with many case studies and presentations where everyone could get involved. I thought the audit case study was ruined a bit due to a vital typo preventing us from understanding the problem properly.
Deloitte reimbursed us with up to £50 of travel expenses. Provided taxis to and from the hotel between the 2 days. They also wined and dined us on the Monday night with a nice three course dinner.
They were more than happy to answer any questions we had and spent a lot of time helping us to prepare for a future interview with the firm, including hi icing us feedback from a mock interview
Although I do not feel I gained all that many skills. I do feel I have a much better understanding of what the firm does and what service line most excited me.
The Company
It was very well structured. We were given a printout of all of the slides to annotate and take home. We were also given a taste for each of the service lines. However I feel they skimmed over corporate finance.
All of the Deloitte employees were incredibly friendly and helpful. The other students on the insight also seemed to enjoy it.
The firm covered most of the costs as seen above. They also brought in people to the St albans office from the London office to talk to us.
The case studies, presentations given and answers to our questions allowed us to get a very good idea of what it would be like to work for the firm.
They mentioned the socials that they often organise and the societies available to employees aswell as the rough hours they tend to work
It has left me with no doubt in my mind that this is the career path I wish to pursue.
Everything Else
Up to £50 of travel expenses were reimbursed subject to them receiving the relevant receipts.
Yes. They organised a dinner for us where there were Deloitte representatives on most of the tables.
I enjoyed the networking dinner. However there was not always a representative on our table as there weren't enough of them. They had to rotate between tables.
They mentioned the regularly organised socials and many societies they had.
It is an absolute must to anyone thinking to enter the proffessional services industry.
