About You
Overall very useful and informative. Well organized and delivered.
The organization and delivery made me feel that A & O really valued us, which was something which really stood them out from other firms.
As much as was possible during one day
Application and negotiation skill talks were good, however, commercial awareness talk was the real standout.
The Company
Very well structured overall.
The atmosphere was relaxed enough to be able to ask questions, whilst also being serious enough to enable me to gain some valuble insight.
Seemed that no expense was spared throughout the day. We were given a goody bag which contained freebies which were quite different to that which is offered elsewhere. Lunch was also excellent
As it was only one day I feel that it is difficult to trully represent what a full time role would entail. Despite this I think that Grad recruitment did all that was possible to aid in this respect.
I think that talking to employees at a firm is the best way to establish and understand the culture. We were given ample time to talk to employees and were given various points of contact at the firm for future use.
Gave me a better understanding of what life as a commercial lawyer entails.
Everything Else
We were given the opportunity to be reimbursed reasonable expenses, however I live in London so didn't really incur any expenses.
Ample opportunities. Had lunch with current trainees and a networking session with associates.
Lunch and the networking session were great as they weren't too formal which meant you could get a better grasp of what life at A&O is like
A little bit by talking to the trainees and also during the tour of the offices.
Definitely!
