The Role
A thoroughly enjoyable and well organised experience that gave me an appreciation of the different facets that constitute an investment bank.
Was provided with frequent feedback and welcomed into the team immediately.
Management were more than happy to meet and discuss areas of improvement or simply talk so as to learn from their experiences.
Had a number of daily tasks that needed to be completed which were supplemented with numerous tasks and ongoing projects which provided a good balance.
Was given the responsibility of producing research potentially worthy of distributing to a wider number of people outside my immediate team.
Taught me how to: Prioritise time better. Quickly evaluate a large volume of information and evaluate into the key points.
The Company
A lively working environment that kept one engaged and interested in the work at hand.
Superbly organised at all levels.
There was a lot of investment in the interns with a comprehensive week of introductory training and subsequent development classes.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Fortunate enough to be extended a job.
The Culture
Very good social scene amongst the fellow placement colleagues with numerous official events organised. This was coupled with a number of different events organised more informally by the interns themselves.
Rather high, but to be expected given the location.
Good bars for after work socialising.
Yes, there was subsidised gym membership and numerous internal clubs.
