About You
It was a very beneficial experience, and participants got a first hand insight into the work life of a trainee through job shadowing. I was allowed to select a preferred department.
The firm surprised participants with chocolates in the mail. The firm also made personalised hooded shirts for each participant.
Each participant was attached to a trainee. I had lunch and coffee with my trainee, and my trainee brought me around the office. He gave me two fairly simple tasks and explained technical terms.
All of the activities (commercial awareness, applications and negotiations workshops) have allowed me to better understand the firm, and I think greatly enhances my prospects of participating in the firm's vacation scheme.
The Company
I think it all depended on the particular trainee that you get. It seems like the trainee decides on the assignments and networking space and time. But you do get to meet many different trainees and the 'speed dating' was particularly insightful. We got to walk to different tables where representatives from different departments answered any queries we might have.
Very positive.
It is too early to tell because the programme lasts for an entire year. I have only attended the first stage.
It allowed me to have first hand experience of the kind of tasks trainees do.
I was left with a very positive impression of the firm's culture.
I applied knowing that I wanted to go down this path.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed expenses.
Plenty of opportunities throughout the day.
The lunch was held in a beautiful room. It was a relaxing atmosphere.
I heard that there is a choir. I was brought to the gym and canteen.
All in all an incredible experience.
