About You
Being from a non-financial degree backing (Maths and Physics), the insight I've gained from this program about the different products Citi provides has been invaluable. I feel like I now have a proficient understanding of the various fields one can enter in finance to make informed decisions about my career.
I felt very much valued by peers on the program, the HR who were involved and the staff of Citi. Everyone was very approachable and genuinely interested in whatever concerns or questions I had. I was work shadowing in investment banking and the analyst I was shadowing and his colleagues who too voluntarily got involved with the shadowing made me feel very valued.
There was a lot of guidance/support on hand from the HR that were always present, also from the people we work shadowed and received talk from. The atmosphere meant that I was comfortable enough to seek help.
The information I have received will certainly act as a direct influence on my career related decisions, it has also inspired me to work harder in my studies such that I can be in such a position to do what I want to do.
The Company
There was great transition from talks to relevant activities, everything was as according to the schedule. Things that take more time than specified were accounted for, being the work shadowing. All in all, in such a small timescale, the insight was able to present us with so much.
The people on the program were great, the HR involved were lovely and so were the staff we met from the various business areas, meaning a great atmosphere. The casual setting networking also contributed to such and so did the shadowing. The insight did dispel myths relating to working at a bank and the people because I found they were all really friendly, approachable and genuinely interested.
They equipped me with a great insight into the various business areas meaning I can make informed career decisions.
The work shadowing and opportunity to ask questions meant I got to really get a feel of what it is like to work at Citi.
Again the questions and the work shadowing meant I had a first hand experience of the culture, and meeting so many people working there and asking them questions about the culture and comparing the culture to other firms they have worked at meant I really gained an understanding.
The content now means I feel confident about what I want to do in the future.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed expenses.
There were opportunities on everyday, with speed networking on the first, casual networking with mostly analysts on the second and then the shadowing on the third. Meeting employees was a constant thing also with the talks from employees in the various sectors.
Very insightful and varied, from speed networking to casual networking and pub quiz, meant all enquiries and questions had their forum.
Yes, from asking questions in the networking I learnt about various sport groups.
Yes, particularly considering how well geared the event is for someone like myself who does not have so much a financial backing and also for those who do.
