The Role
Beside the early mornings and long days, I loved every minute of my internship. I had the chance to gain an invaluable insight into one of the most amazing industries in the world.
My team went out of their way to get to know me and to give me guidance. We often went out for team drinks in the evenings after work. I am still in contact with my colleagues now.
My manager was very busy - however, whenever he had time, he would sit with me to see how I was progressing and would give me feedback and guidance.
I always had projects to be working on. All of the work that I was given was manageable and the objectives were attainable.
From day one, I was given a huge amount of responsibility and trust and I relished it - I’ve never learnt so much in such a short space of time.
I improved the following skills: Time Management, Corporate Awareness, Professionalism, Attention to Detail and Motivation.
The Company
My team were very lively and it is essential for the role I was in (Client Services) for the team to always be communicating.
From start to finish, the HR team did a fantastic job, laying on Intern events and speaker series. We were given a handbook which clearly showed what was expected from us and what other opportunities were available.
They committed a whole week to training us which I was very impressed with considering the internship was only 10 weeks long!

On my last day, I was given a graduate job offer which I have accepted.
The Culture
There were always people going out for drinks after work, and every Friday a large group of us went to a nightclub.
Being Canary Wharf, the drinks and entertainment were very expensive! It didn't stop us from socialising though!
The nightlife in Canary Wharf isn't great as the bars close quite early, however we would often go into central london where the nightlife is great!
There are sports clubs and networking groups that you can join.
