About You
The work that I was given was varied and I was never sat at my desk with nothing to do, the social events that CMS organised were also very enjoyable.
I was given all real work to do so I felt that I was doing something useful for the firm.
I had a buddy and a supervisor who were always on hand to help me with tasks. The graduate recruitment team were also a good support network and we could always contact them if we had an issues.
The skills that I have developed whilst undertaking the work will be invaluable for the future in any profession. I also went along to several training sessions with trainees which substantially developed my knowledge within that area of law.
The Company
The vacation scheme was very well structured and we had department presentations on a daily basis and planned social events. The support network was also very well structured.
The firm is very friendly and everyone within my department was very approachable and they made me feel very welcome.
I was able to attend the same training sessions as the trainees and this was invaluable in developing my knowledge of the law.
I got to share an office with a partner which may be the case if I was a trainee so it enabled me to see what life would be like as a trainee at the firm. We also had presentations given by lawyers at all levels in the firm so this gave me a real insight into the daily life at CMS.
The daily insight that I got for two weeks in a department at CMS gave me a real feel for the culture of the firm.
The vacation scheme was invaluable as it has given me a real insight into what it would be like to work at a law firm.

I was paid
Other members of the firm would be present at soical events that were organised for the vacation students. Also we were given talks by various employees at the firm which enabled us to ask questions.
They were very enjoyable and they were a good way to get to know the other vacation students and trainees at the firm.
We had a presentation on corporate social responsibility which was insightful.
