The Role
-Great balance between work and social activities - I was able to meet a great deal of professionals within the firm, at all levels of seniority
-I felt very encouraged and received a lot of positive feed-back as well as suggestions for improvement and advice
-Associates and trainees as well as partners were very generous with their time and extremely willing to offer me guidance and advice, which was invaluable -Colleagues were always willing to answer my questions as well as talk me through ways in which I could improve
-Overall i had a good amount of work which meant i was kept busy and able to get a realistic insight into life as a Trainee Solicitor
- I was given a good deal of responsibility, particularly in situations where I was working under time-pressure to deliver pieces of work which I had to ensure were up to standard
-I gained very strong skills in research, particularly using online resources which has proved very helpful in subsequent work placements as well as on the LPC -I also gained a good understanding of practical issues which I would approach in practice
The Company
-Extremely professional, yet all the people I worked with were always friendly and welcoming and willing to help me as well as give me work, and ensure I was kept busy
-Extremely well-laid out, certainly the best placement in terms of organisation -This enabled me to get a good insight into the work as well as benefit from meeting people and making contacts within the firm
-A great amount of time was given to introduce us to the basic skills, such as research -A great amount of on-the-job training
Subsidised Canteen
A great firm, with extremely talented professionals and a great place to work and train; clear that the firm provides work to the highest standards Extremely professional culture as well as an excellent work life balance Very approachable professionals at all levels of seniority
The Culture
Everyone was very friendly and eager to socialise after work
Not particularly cheap due to the location near the City, however there were always great places to go in the area
I was involved in pro-bono work at a legal advice centre
