About You
It was really enjoyable because everyone that we met was really friendly and informative. The business game broke the day up nicely since it provided something different from just listening to people speak but was simultaneously beneficial.
There were always opportunities to ask questions and the partners/associates/trainees were always willing to chat. Also, the fact that we've been told that we will stay in contact is nice since our interest in the firm is already being recognised.
The information on the application process was really helpful, as were the tips on commercial awareness since so many people, including myself, weren't really sure what this meant.
The business task definitely will help my commercial awareness since working with others enabled me to see things that others picked up on that I wouldn't necessarily have done so myself. Also, it's always good to practice giving presentations as communication is a key skill in any subject or job.
The Company
The structure was good - nothing to complain about although the end of the day slightly overran and I felt bad leaving the drinks slightly early to catch my train home.
Really helpful, friendly and they made us feel valued.
The feedback after the business task was helpful and really appreciated since we were only there for one day and so it wasn't necessarily expected.
Of course it is hard to tell from one day however I feel that we got a better idea about the values of the firm and the nature of the employees.
You could really feel the company culture when interacting with people at the firm. I especially like the fact that even the cleaners etc. are part of the company.
I wasn't too sure on working in a commercial law firm as some that I had visited previously didn't feel very 'human'. Taylor Wessing however made me feel like I would be recognised and valued and so has changed my perspective.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed for my train ticket which was really good - it's hard being a student!
Yes at lunch, throughout the day and after with drinks.
The lunch was perhaps not very well organised and we weren't always near a trainee to chat to but it was still useful.
Yes they were keen to tell us about the themed weeks, and events that are held
Definitely and I have done!
