    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Immensely as I have got to experience working in a corporate environment with departments all over the world. Cummins also gave me a platform to translate theory learnt from University to the work environment.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I feel very valued by my team members and I have been allowed to express myself, my opinions and suggestions have always been valued and taken on board.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given support constantly and had a mentor who shadowed me for my placement year. This was also done on a flexible basis as I was allowed to work autonomously but with the added support if I ever needed it.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had to plan my weeks in advance as I had numerous core tasks that kept me really busy. Furthermore I would be assigned tasks as and when I was required which meant that I had to manage my time wisely.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was allowed to work on numerous projects on my own and was also given the opportunity to manage my own time, so that I was able to experience different facets of the business but also gain a broader understanding of Cummins Culture and business.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • They will assist me greatly as I have matured through this process and am better at time management as well as having a better knowledge of how theories translate to real world working environment.
