The Role
Working at Cummins Power Generation was a pleasure. The support provided by the team was immense and the work load was very manageable.
Extremely valued.
My supervisor often went out of his way in order to support me during my placement year.
I was very busy, however i was never overworked or stressed wit the amount of work. Again, I received support from my manager and colleagues which always made work easier.
I was untrusted with more responsibility than expected.
I gained invaluable skills ranging from communication and presentation skills to professionalism. With a fairly technical role, I have been able to apply knowledge acquired throughout my degree to my daily work. I believe that with the knowledge gained from this placement year, i will be able to correlate it to academic principles in future.
The Company
The atmosphere was always very friendly.
The placement was well organised by Cummins. It also included placement modules which further enhanced my soft skills.
The company invested a lot in me. Be it responsibility of major projects or capital for travel, I was always supported by the team.

I will be applying to many jobs within Cummins for a graduate job.
The Culture
The fellow placements were very friendly and outgoing.
Ramsgate is a fairly cheap place to live.
The nightlife in Ramsgate is borderline non-existent and fairly horrible in the places that advertise clubbing.
Cummins provided us with many social activities outside work which were subsidised and fun. However, Ramsgate is not place with much to do.
