The Role
I really enjoyed my placement at Xerox and would highly recommend it to others
Xerox treated me like a true member of the team and I felt valued as a team member, It is nice to see your work being used by others and congratulated by colleagues outside of your team.
Luckily, I had a great team at Xerox, my management and other team members provided me with great support and guidance throughout my placement. This made me feel alot more comfortable in the workplace - especially in the first few weeks.
This obviously changes depending on job, but personally I had a constant flow of work, however some days were busier than others,
At Xerox how much responsibility you are given depends very much on how much responsibility you want, putting in the work in the first few months pays off later in the year. You are truly a member of the team and your work counts.
The skills I have learnt at Xerox have taught me more than I expected from a placement year. It has grown me as an individual inside and outside of work
The Company
The atmosphere in the office is a relaxed but hardworking environment. In the office there are multiple teams that may not be related to your own team, yet it is nice and social.
The general hiring of the placement wasn't so well organised, yet when here, my own boss and colleagues have been more than helpful.
A certain amount of training is compulsory, after those hours it is voluntary. As for development i think you develop on a daily basis in the working environment.

London is expensive to live in
Nights out happen mostly once a week depending on your friendship group, when starting placement nights out will be arranged to help you meet everyone.
