About You
The Leadership Academy is an enjoyable as well as a good learning experience. It was enjoyable because you're with loads of other students who are friendly and keen to get on with each other. I didn't enjoy the indoor lecture based material as much as the activities we did over the 4 days.
I definitely felt valued - EY paid for all accommodation, food and travel expenses - this really showed me that EY were keen to recruit us.
In my situation I felt I already knew what I needed to improve on therefore any guidance/support given didn't really add much.
As President of a University society next year, I think that the experience will help me since I have learnt from others what is needed to be a good leader - hopefully I'll be able to display those characteristics next year,
The Company
The program was pretty well structured - no late starts - we were given clear instructions as to what to do during the tasks.
I really liked the atmosphere during the insight - I thought it would be really tense and competitive atmosphere before I started the program but was pleasantly surprised to see how nice the people were and how easy it was to connect with each other, It also helped how everyone seemed to be from a university which I knew people at.
They invested in a personal training by an expert however it merely felt like university lectures at times which made it boring at times and thus difficult to concentrate. but the activities where we could actually be leaders was a very good experience as this was the best opportunity to understand what leadership skills I needed to improve on.
I still feel like the insight did not really tell me much what working life at EY is about because it was all about leadership and not EY.
It helped quite a bit.
It made me more confident in realising that I am suitable for the career path I am interested in,
