About You
I very much enjoyed the Leadership Academy for several reasons. It gave me the opportunity to gain an in sight into EY's culture, as well as meet people with a similar vision to my own. I enjoyed both the activity based learning, as well as the free time we received in between to mingle with each other.
I felt extremely valued, as I was surrounded by people on the course who were very friendly and willing to help each other learn from experiences. I also found the facilitators very beneficial and interactive as they built confidence in myself through championing me.
I received different forms of guidance, all of which were very beneficial. The coaching sessions challenged the way in which I perceive my own strengths and helped me identify my latent strength, whilst the group feedback sessions were a great way to learn from my team members about my leadership qualities.
The skills I learnt are fantastically valuable, most importantly, due to the fact that my team members helped with identifying my latent strengths.
The Company
The leadership academy was very jam packed with brilliant activities and sessions. Each and every hour was unique as a learning experience.
The atmosphere was very friendly. All the other students were motivated, as were the facilitators. Everyone helped each other bring out the best of them, and overall it was a very welcoming atmosphere.
EY invested heavily in the course. I was thrilled to be a part of such a great learning experience. The accommodation was great, as was the venue, and it was a fantastic idea to have us be a part of a group drumming exercise.
Leadership Academy has helped me gain a better and more well rounded idea of what to expect in any role within EY. Attending the brilliant Partner Dinner, gave me a chance to network with EY professionals, both graduates and seniors, as well as gain an insight from a very experienced partner on her experiences to date with the company.
Leadership Academy has elaborated on my view about the culture within EY. As I have visited EY on a number of occasions, the experience only strengthened my view about the culture and its collegiate and friendly people. The culture is one that nurtures whilst providing endless opportunities from junior to partner level.
The content on each day, in each session was thoroughly insightful. I learnt various different things about how to adapt my leadership qualities in different surroundings. With the help of facilitators from sector specific areas of the firm, I was able to gain an insight into some of EY's departmental work. It was very well planned and executed by the organisers.
Everything Else
Unpaid, with an option to have travel expenses reimbursed. However it is evident that EY invested heavily into each person attending the Leadership Academy. From the books and Easter eggs sent before the academy dates, to the modern bedrooms and great food each day. AND great networking opportunities which money just can't buy! Fantastic experience!
There were many opportunities to network with professionals from the firm. From daily encounters with the facilitators who spent the 4 days with us, to the networking at the 'Partner Dinner' hosted by an EY Partner alongside various professionals from across the firm.
Networking events were excellent as I was able to make some great contacts and secure some shadowing opportunities for the coming summer. Social events were equally as exciting where we were able to mingle with all team members and enjoy the lovely venue and overall experience.
YES! EY offer a number of activities and opportunities for their employees, including the Women's Network and various other sporting activities.
I would most definitely recommend the Leadership Academy! Not only does it give you the opportunity to develop your own clear and latent strengths, it is also a great way to socialise with people form different walks of life, and create great links with other students and professionals.
